All very tempting, the Fitbit Air. It's my first foray into using a fitness tracker.

I have never been a fan of wearing watches. Ever since I was a child, I had always gotten rashes from watch straps due to prolonged use. Subsequently, with the proliferation of mobile phones, there’s always something around me that tells time, making a watch somewhat of an irrelevant thing.

While the notion of having something strapped onto me for almost 24/7 of my life doesn’t sound very appealing, I do hope that the 12g Fitbit Air will be something that I can wear and forget.

In the end, the hope is that I’ll be able to track my sleep, heartrate, my exercise habits (and VO2Max, albeit indirectly) to optimise for a better life. But tracking is just the beginning - it remains to be seen if I can make use of this data, that it is truly useful in improving my health outcomes.

We shall see.
